Hungary under Soviet control

Since the end of World War II, Hungary has been a Soviet satellite state. The Communist Party controls all aspects of life — press, courts, economy. The secret police (ÁVH) enforces loyalty through surveillance, arrests, and show trials. Living standards are poor despite promises of a workers' paradise.
